Job Details:
Job Summary: Serves as the lead analyst and key liaison, working closely with colleagues from Operations, Engineering and Test teams and the Client to ensure in-house or deployed systems are kept current and functional. Draws upon their technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the applications and related business processes to deep-dive into complex system issues. Develops strategies to effectively deploy and manage application installations. Assures timely availability of applications by adopting robust monitoring practices and proper interpretation of resulting outcomes and trends. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively within a team of System Analysts.
  • Assume a lead role within and outside the team when working through a coordinated task.
  • As a custodian of various applications, use knowledge gained to provide valuable insight during braintstorming activities to ensure that all perspectives are appropriately considered in the decision-making or evaluation process.
  • Provide leadership in the resolution and remediation of technical issues.
  • Profess a good understanding of the KPIs and SLAs necessary to maintain and administer the systems effectively.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of release and change management activities for new solutions and software releases.
  • Set up and manage the administration of security controls for the system to comply with quality and security requirements to ensure integrity of the systems. Demonstrate strong security awareness and proactively escalate threats or issues as appropriate.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and system architecture and design activities when required.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of resource configuration on all platforms.
  • Assist in installing, configuring, and operating monitoring software such as SolarWinds. Develop and/or thoroughly utilize these tools to perform analysis of system performance.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation where required.
  • Mentor staff, act as a key liaison to peers and other system analysts.
  • Participate as a primary contact in the 24x7 on-call support roster.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications
Essential:
  • Degree in a related IT/Computer Science discipline or a minimum of six years systems administrator/analyst experience.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining applications, both third party COTS and internally developed
  • In depth understanding of System Administration/Analyst methodology and principles
  • Minimum 4 years experience in supporting Unix, Linux or Microsoft environments
  • Experience in developing and maintaining scripts (e.g. Powershell, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in writing SQL Queries and reports
  • Knowledge of databases including SQL Server and Oracle
  • Demonstrated ability to manage systems in a multiple server environment
  • Software development experience with C# & Java applications
  • Experience in PCI-DSS and/or ISO2700 based system security processes.
  • Proficiency across all Microsoft Office applications
Desirable:
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline is a plus
  • Previous experience supporting CRM platforms, IVRs, public facing websites, online payment systems and integration software
  • Previous experience supporting device based application solutions for payment systems
  • Previous experience in the development and operation of transport ticketing systems.
